life can be dark and twisty

Many times, we don’t see the patterns and thoughts that hold us back. People I work with feel stuck in old ways of being that are no longer sustainable. This space can be uncertain and disorienting. It can also feel like things, or you, are falling apart. I think of this as a liminal state – a threshold where something is ending and another way of being is trying to emerge.

disintegration to integration

This process is a loosening of patterns or beliefs about yourself, others, or the world. It can mean an update in ways of coping or seeing yourself. Disintegration, that loosening, is not comfortable. However it can be a meaningful part of lasting change. Together we work to create space for something more aligned or authentic to take shape and emerge.

as a therapist . . .

With 14 years of clinical experience, I have worked with outpatient and inpatient clients as well as in crisis work, advocacy, and supervising pre-licensed therapists and social workers.

Prior to becoming a clinical social worker and therapist, I worked with people coping with traumatic brain injuries, substance abuse, homelessness, and surviving during and after interpersonal violence.

The focus of my training and experience is on providing EMDR, somatic or body-based interventions, and mindfulness-based psychedelic therapy. My approach is person-centered, relational, and holistic and includes a spiritual and existential component.

as a human . . .

I show up as my full self in my work. Just like you, I have a lifetime of experiences such as loss and grief, love and heartbreak, fear and discontent, and spiritual questioning, etc.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m often with my furry companions and loved ones or surrounding myself with nature. I enjoy hiking, camping, being on the river, and going for long drives just for the sake of exploring. I’m a burgeoning plant mom, and often find myself buried in a book.

I am deeply grateful for the land I inhabit and the people who have traveled the paths I walk.

Fun fact – I went to school to become a therapist because of a tarot card reading. It was either this or becoming a librarian!

I believe we feel safest when we go inside ourselves and find home, a place where we belong and may be the only place we really do.
